How do I manage productivity controls on my account?

What are Productivity Controls?

Productivity Controls help businesses manage how employees use their devices. They give you control over:

  • The type of content users can access.
  • How much mobile data is used.
  • Where devices are located.
  • Spending limits on services.

These tools help businesses reduce unnecessary costs, boost focus, and maintain a professional environment.

Choosing the right level of control

Every business has different needs. That’s why we offer three tariff levels – Essential, Gold and Platinum – each with different levels of insight, control and support.

Some Productivity Controls are only available on Gold and Platinum.

Content and access controls

You can block or allow specific categories of online content:

  • Adult – blocks inappropriate or explicit content.
  • Gambling – restricts access to gambling sites.
  • Mobile Data – allows you to block all internet access.
  • Social Media – prevents access to social networks.
  • Streaming – blocks video and music streaming sites.

To manage content controls:

  1. Log in to my.plan.
  2. Open the Controls tab from the top navigation menu.
  3. Go to Data, Calls & Text > Data Controls.
  4. Use the switches to turn each Productivity Control on or off for individual users.

Spend controls vs bars

It’s important to understand the difference:

  • Spend Controls – set a cost limit for calls, texts, or data. Usage is restricted once the limit is reached.
  • Bars – stop all further usage of a service completely, preventing any extra charges.

Spend Controls and Productivity Controls work well together to help you stay in control of costs.

Location services

Location Services let you see where devices are at a given time by tracking their connection to mobile masts.

  • Accuracy can vary depending on signal strength, local geography, or if the device is turned off.
  • Platinum tariffs provide the most accurate location information.

To manage Location Services:

  1. Log in to my.plan.
  2. Open the Controls tab from the top navigation menu.
  3. Go to Device Setup > Visible on Map.
  4. Select the user in the left-hand menu.
  5. Use the switch under Visible on Map to enable or disable location tracking.
