Managing your tariff and allowances
Your tariff is the foundation of your mobile service — it sets out how much data, calls, and texts you get each month, and what happens if you go beyond those allowances. This guide explains what’s included, how to upgrade, and how to avoid unexpected charges.
What’s included in your tariff
Most tariffs include a monthly allowance of:
-
Calls – unlimited minutes on most tariffs.
-
Texts – unlimited SMS on most tariffs.
-
Data – measured in gigabytes (GB), or unlimited (subject to Fair Usage Policy).
There are also data-only tariffs, ideal for tablets, routers, or mobile broadband devices.

Upgrading your tariff
If you need more allowances:
-
Contact your account manager (your plan partner).
-
Or email us at help@plan.com.
Tariff upgrades can be requested at any time, but changes only take effect from the start of your next billing period.
Sharing tariffs vs single-user tariffs
-
Single-user tariffs – allowances are for that user only.
-
Sharer tariffs – allowances are pooled and shared across multiple users.
-
Usage is first come, first served.
-
You can’t ring-fence or swap allowances between users.
-
Sharer tariffs are a good choice for teams where usage varies between individuals.
Checking your usage and charges
You can track your allowances and charges in real time via my.plan:
-
Log in to my.plan.
-
From the top menu, go to Usage → All.
-
Use the All Usage and Charges module to view data, calls, and texts.
-
Drill down by type or location for more detail.
This helps you spot potential overspend before it hits your bill.
Additional charges to be aware of
Even with an allowance, some services are not included:
-
Premium rate numbers – charged at higher rates (see additional charges guide).
-
International calls and texts – check our international tariffs.
-
Out-of-bundle usage – if you exceed your data or allowances.
Rental charges cover network access and are billed in advance. Admin fees may also apply for account management.
Premium rate services
Premium rate calls and texts include competitions, voting, or entertainment services. These are always charged separately from your allowances. For details, see our guide on additional charges.
✅ By understanding what’s included in your tariff, how sharing works, and where additional charges can apply, you’ll be able to make the most of your plan and stay in control of your costs.
