Why Has My Mobile Data Stopped Early on My Android Phone?
If your mobile data has stopped before you’ve used your full allowance (for example, stopping at 5GB even though your plan includes 16GB), it may be due to a setting on your Android phone rather than an issue with your network allowance.
Many Android devices include built-in tools that can warn you about data usage or automatically turn off mobile data once a certain limit is reached. These limits can sometimes be set by default, even if you haven’t changed anything yourself.
How to Check Your Data Limit Settings on Android
The steps may vary slightly by device, but most Android phones follow a similar layout:
Open the Settings app
Tap Network & Internet (or Connections / Mobile Network on some phones)
Select Data Usage
Tap Data Warning & Limit or Billing Cycle
Make sure the following options are turned off:
Data warning
Data limit
If you see a data limit set, either disable it or increase it above your monthly allowance.
After You Update the Settings
Once the data warning or limit is removed, your mobile data should begin working again, usually within an hour.
