A botnet is a network of devices, connected via the Internet, working together to provide a service. Anything from running a chat room to the more sinister, distributed denial-of-service attack (DDoS attack), stealing data, or sending spam. Botnets allow an attacker to access a device and its connections.
Activating our Botnet Content Data Restriction¹ helps prevent a user from accessing sites and applications associated with botnet traffic. The list of sites and services is provided by a specialist independent provider and our records are constantly revised and updated.
¹Please note that this block only prevents access to such content when the service is connected to mobile data through the plan.com data service (APN). It will not prevent access if the service is receiving data from a WiFi network or an alternative data source.
