Using a VPN (Virtual Private Network) on a device prevents data usage from being displayed in my.plan, which means that data content restrictions such as Adult, Gambling, Streaming and Social Media are ineffective, and a service’s data usage cannot be monitored.
If you want to restrict your teams' access to non-work related sites and applications and/or you want sight of their mobile data activity, then we recommend adding our VPN restriction, to prevent any team member concealing their mobile data usage activity.
However, if your company uses a VPN as a security measure, you should not choose to block this type of restriction.
To prevent any user utilising a VPN, from the dashboard of your plan.com account, go to:
CONTROLS > DATA, CALLS & TEXTS > DATA CONTROLS > VPN > [select user] > BLOCKED
