Managing your telecommunications usage costs has never been easier!
There's a wide range of options in my.plan to ensure you stay fully in control of your account's spending.
- Set Access controls to prevent any user utilising a service that could incur costs or harm your account.
- Set Spending Limits on calls, mobile data, text usage, roaming usage, International usage and more!
- Save time by configuring a one-stop-shop Profile of access and spending controls that can be applied to any number of users on your account.
1. ACCESS CONTROLS
There are so many possibilities with your my.plan to set Access Controls, we've simplified the options, by grouping them into 4 categories, then sub-categories.
To get started, from your dashboard, go to: CONTROLS
Choose from the 4 categories:
- DATA, CALLS & TEXTS (Essential Users - Upgrade Required)
- PREMIUM & ROAMING (Essential Users - Upgrade Required)
- SECURITY (Essential Users - Upgrade Required)
- PRODUCTIVITY (Gold & Platinum Users Only)
Each chosen category opens up sub-category options, presented to you on-screen in the form of columns. Simply choose from each or every column header.
To apply the same restriction to all users, select the MANAGE ALL DEVICES option and select BLOCK. Otherwise, select each user(s) per column, and toggle ALLOWED to DISALLOWED, for each user.
For example, choosing the DATA, CALLS & TEXTS category, opens up 4 sub-category options:
- DATA CONTROLS
- INCOMING & OUTGOING CALLS
- INCOMING & OUTGOING TEXTS
- PERSONAL HOTSPOT
To prevent 'User 1' accessing mobile data whilst roaming abroad, the navigation would be:
CONTROLS > DATA CALLS & TEXTS > DATA CONTROLS > DATA CONTROL: ROAMING > USER 1 > BLOCKED
Your selection(s) are auto-saved.
2. SPEND LIMITS* AND CAPS
Spending controls come in two forms:
Spend Limits* can be added to Gold and Platinum subscription connections. They can be individually applied to UK Data, UK Calls, UK Texts, Roaming Data, Roaming Calls, and Roaming Texts. Each Spending Limit allows the user to generate additional charges up to the applied Limit, at which point restrictions are automatically triggered that prevent further usage and further charges from being incurred.
*Essential account users - upgrade required.
To configure a Spending Limit, from your my.plan dashboard, go to:
Go to: CONTROLS > SPEND ALERTS > DATA/CALLS/TEXTS > [select user] > SET UP
Ofcom Spend Caps place a restriction on the service, once the selected spending limit has been reached, regardless of usage (calls, text or data). So, if a £10 cap is set, a bar will trigger no matter how the £10 extra charge was generated. That could be on mobile data alone or a combination of data, calls and texts usage.
Any bars triggered as a result of a spending limit being reached can be removed at any time, by authorised account users or will automatically deactivate at the beginning of each calendar month, when allowances are refreshed.
Regardless of account user level, all customers who either joined plan.com on or after 1st October 2018, or renewed on or after that date, can set an Ofcom Spend Cap.
To configure an ‘Ofcom’ Spending Cap, from your my.plan dashboard, go to:
CONTROLS > SPEND ALERTS > OFCOM SPEND CAP > [select user] > SET UP
3. ACCOUNT PROFILES Gold & Platinum Account Users Only
The Account Profile feature is available without restriction to Platinum account users and is free to Gold account users for a period of 3 months from connection / renewal.
Our Profile feature is the one-stop shop for all usage controls, device controls and spend management options. The beauty of the Profile feature is that once set, the Profile can easily be applied to any number of users on your account.
To configure a Profile, from your my.plan dashboard, go to:
MY ACCOUNT > SERVICE MANAGEMENT > MANAGE PROFILE GROUPS > ADD NEW
Name the Profile and select from the options available, then SAVE PROFILE
Once configured and saved, the profile can be easily applied.
Go to:
CONTROLS > PROFILE GROUPS > ASSIGN PROFILE GROUPS > DEVICE CONTROLS/PROFILE
To apply to all users, select MANAGE ALL DEVICES from the column header.
To apply to a limited number of users, choose which user(s) and select the saved profile from the drop down menu and SAVE
