If you're incurring charges for making calls whilst in the UK, the source of the charges will be one or more of the following:
- Dialling International numbers (numbers outside the UK).
- Dialling premium rate numbers (competition lines, information services or adult services).
- Dialling other chargeable numbers (08 numbers set up by the likes of your bank or utilities provider).
- Exceeding our Fair Use Policy of 3000 mins per calendar month.
Through your my.plan dashboard access, you can set blocks to prevent access to any chargeable number. Go to:
CONTROLS > PREMIUM & ROAMING > CHARGEABLE CALLS > CONTROLS/CHARGEABLE CALLS > [select user] > BLOCKED
Alternatively, set a Spend Control¹ and incorporate usage notifications. Setting a £0 spending cap will also block outgoing calls to chargeable numbers. From your my.plan dashboard, go to:
SPEND CONTROLS > DATA LIMITS/CALLS LIMITS/TEXT LIMITS > UK/EU or ROAMING > SELECT USER > SET UP
Alternatively, set an Ofcom Total Spend Cap². Go to:
CONTROLS > SPEND CONTROLS > OFCOM TOTAL SPEND CAP > [select user] > SET UP
¹ available to Gold & Platinum account users and Essential account users via an upgrade
² available to new customers from 1st October 2018 and existing customer who renew from the same date
