’Roaming’ is the practice of using your mobile phone on another operator's network, typically, when you travel overseas.
Your standard plan.com allowances do not include use of your services outside the plan.com Europe Zone. Therefore, using your services outside the UK or Europe Zone means that you may incur additional charges, other than those described as part of your tariff, while using your services. Please note: a service is in use (is being used) simply by it being turned on (data is sent and received). Therefore, if you want to limit your service's usage, put it in Flight Safe mode or keep it switched off.
plan.com Europe Zone
Customers with tariffs and bolt-ons that include UK allowances may use those allowances when roaming in the plan.com Europe Zone.
Usage in these destinations will be deducted from your UK allowances. For example, our more.plan 5GB tariff customers will enjoy unlimited calls1 and texts1 as well as 5GB of data to use in the UK and plan.com Europe Zone. If you use 500MB in France, 500MB will be deducted from your more.plan 5GB data bundle, just as if you were at home.
Europe Zone usage that exceeds standard tariff allowances will be charged at the same out of bundle rates that apply to the UK. https://www.plan.com/pricing
The following usage is included with the UK tariff allowance:
- All data usage in the plan.com Europe Zone
- Calls and texts back to the UK from any plan.com Europe Zone destination (including voicemail retrieval)
- Calls and texts within a plan.com Europe Zone destination, e.g. Spain to Spain
- Calls and texts from one foreign country to another where both are in the plan.com Europe Zone, e.g. Spain to Germany
The following usage is excluded from the UK tariff allowance:
- Calls and texts from the UK to destinations in the plan.com Europe Zone - these are International calls/texts
- Calls and texts from in the plan.com Europe Zone to a non-EZ destination, e.g. Spain to the USA
- All calls and texts to Premium/Non-Geographic/Chargeable numbers, including texts received from chargeable/premium-rate numbers
Rest of World Roaming
The ability to use your inclusive tariff allowances only extends as far as the UIK and our Europe Zone. If you are roaming outside the plan.com Europe Zone and do not have an applicable bolt-on, you will incur standard rate, additional charges for making calls, sending texts and accessing data. When it comes to roaming data, out of bundle charges are significantly higher than domestic data, so we strongly advise using one of our roaming bolt-ons whenever you travel outside of Europe or when roaming near European borders (see below).
PLEASE NOTE: From 1 December 2022, the €50 roaming data cap will not longer be applied to new or renewing services by default. This is due to changes in regulations following Brexit.
Please ensure that you are protected while roaming by adding a Spending Limit or Total Ofcom Spend Cap to your services.
For more information on roaming, see: https://www.plan.com/roaming-international#terms
To view and add a Rest of World roaming bolt on, from the dashboard of your my.plan account go to:

Roaming near borders
While roaming in countries that border with other destinations that fall outside the region or zone (e.g. The Republic of Cyprus, which borders with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), it is possible for a roaming mobile phone to connect with a mobile mast in the neighbouring country. In the example of Cyprus and Turkey, voice, text and data charges are are significantly higher than data within the Europe Zone, so we strongly advise using one of our roaming bolt-ons whenever you travel outside of Europe or when roaming near European borders. plan.com is not able to control which network your Equipment connects to. For this reason, we are not liable for any additional charges that are incurred.
