SMS stands for Short Message Service. This is a text message: a message consisting solely of text, most often sent through a device's native text message application.
Incoming SMS are messages received by someone. Outgoing SMS are messages sent by someone.
Certain messages can incur additional costs: such as SMS containing pictures, videos and animated GIFS (also known as MMS), as well as messages sent to international and premium numbers.
