SMS stands for Short Message Service. This is a text message: a message consisting solely of text, most often sent through a device's native text message application.
Incoming SMS are messages received by someone. Outgoing SMS are messages sent by someone.
Certain messages can incur additional costs: such as SMS containing pictures, videos and animated GIFS (also known as MMS), as well as messages sent to international and premium numbers.
So, not only do we provide an option to set a Spend Control on text messages, but also the ability to switch them off altogether!
To configure a Spend Control¹ on text message usage, from the dashboard of your my.plan account, go to:
CONTROLS > SPEND CONTROLS > TEXTS > [select user] > SET UP
To remove the ability to send text messages, go to:
CONTROLS > DATA, CALLS & TEXTS > INCOMING & OUTGOING SMS > OUTGOING SMS > [select user] > BLOCKED
