Our Spend Controls help to limit additional charges by setting a cap on the amount of usage, over an above your inclusive tariff allowances, that can be enjoyed by each user on the account.
my.plan offers several Spend Controls1 that can be tailored to each user's needs:
- Data, calls and text usage spend limits (at home or abroad)
- Captive pages to help you stay connected
To configure Spend Controls2, from the dashboard of your my.plan account, go to:
Go to: CONTROLS > SPEND CONTROLS > DATA/CALL/TEXT LIMITS > [select user] > SET UP
All customers who joined or renewed with lan.com on or after 1st October 2018 can set an ‘Ofcom Total Spend Limit’.
This allows for a spend cap to be set that will trigger a service restriction once reached, no matter how reached.
For example, if a £10 limit is set and reached, whether the extra costs were incurred by data use alone or a combination of data, calls and texts use, the service will be restricted.
To set an ‘Ofcom’ Spending Limit, go to:
CONTROLS > SPEND CONTROLS > OFCOM TOTAL SPEND CAP > [select user] > SET UP
Limitations
Ofcom Spend Cap limits do not restrict certain types of account and service-based charges, including (but not limited to) calls and texts to premium-rate and non-geographic numbers, the addition of bolt-ons, automatic upgrade charges linked to our pro-plan Switch tariff, account charges such as non-payment charges, or certain charges to mobile services that allow you to pay for goods or services from app stores, third party publishers, and merchants via your phone bill.
